Vienna General Hospital (AKH Wien) is the university hospital of the Medical University of Vienna and one of the largest hospitals in Europe, with numerous departments including the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology (Department of Internal Medicine III).

LKH University Hospital Graz (Medical University of Graz) is the largest hospital in Styria and a university hospital with numerous departments, including the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

Knappschaftsklinikum Saar GmbH operates two hospital sites in Saarland: the Puttlingen site (Department of Internal Medicine with focus on gastroenterology, hepatology, endocrinology and diabetology, Chief Physician Prof. Dr. med. Vincent Zimmer) and the Sulzbach site (Department of Gastroenterology with the Gastrointestinal Center Saar, Chief Physician Dr. med. Patrizio Merloni). Together the two sites comprise numerous departments ranging from general and visceral surgery to cardiology and radiology.
