Head physician of Medical Department IV for Gastroenterology/Oncology at Klinikum Böblingen (Klinikverbund Südwest), since 2019. Studied medicine in Heidelberg and Munich, worked at Klinikum Großhadern, specialty training at Mainz University Medicine from 2000 with a habilitation on innovative endoscopic techniques. Moved to Tübingen University Hospital in 2012, where he headed interdisciplinary endoscopy, ultrasound, and the inflammatory bowel disease section. Research and clinical focus: diagnostic and interventional endoscopy and inflammatory bowel disease; extensive guideline work and textbook editing. Elected chair of the DGVS Endoscopy Section (since 2023), board member since 2014.
