Prof. Dr. Andreas Stallmach is clinic director of the Department of Internal Medicine IV (Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Infectious Diseases) and medical director at Jena University Hospital. His clinical and scientific focus is on chronic inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis), chronic liver disease, and the advancement of endoscopic diagnostic techniques for early detection of gastrointestinal disease. Under his leadership, the department runs an active liver transplantation program, including a focus on adult living-donor liver transplantation.
