Prof. Papatheodoridis is Professor of Gastroenterology at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and heads the 1st Department of Gastroenterology and Liver Transplantation Unit at the General Hospital of Athens 'Laiko', Greece. He chairs the Hellenic Transplant Organization and represents Greece on the European Committee for Organ Transplantation. His research focuses on viral hepatitis B, and he has been involved in major international clinical guidelines on chronic hepatitis B management. He co-authored the 2026 Paris International Liver Meeting summary review.
