PD Dr. med. Tim Hollstein is a specialist in internal medicine, endocrinology and diabetology at University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH), Kiel. As a clinician scientist, his research focuses on metabolic disease, obesity and personalized nutrition — including energy expenditure phenotyping and the role of brown adipose tissue in metabolism. He is the author of the popular-science book "Das Kuchen-Paradox" and has received the Research Prize of the German Obesity Society (2024).
