At Claraspital Basel, gastroenterology, hepatology and visceral surgery are run jointly with Universitätsspital Basel under the Clarunis – Universitäres Bauchzentrum Basel brand. Gastroenterology and hepatology is led by Prof. Dr. med. Stefan Kahl. The center offers endoscopy provided by specialized nursing staff, as well as visceral surgery including robotic-assisted procedures (da Vinci Xi) for esophageal, rectal and bariatric surgery.
