The ifi Institute for Interdisciplinary Medicine at Asklepios Klinik St. Georg operates the Hamburg Liver Centre under Prof. Dr. med. Jörg Petersen. Its focus is on viral hepatitis (B, C, D), autoimmune hepatitis, biliary tract diseases (PBC, PSC), hemochromatosis and Wilson's disease, as well as liver cirrhosis including TIPS procedures and hepatocellular carcinoma. Transplant care is provided in cooperation with the UKE. Equipment includes modern ultrasound diagnostics with elastography for fibrosis measurement and therapeutic endoscopy.
