The Department of Gastroenterology and Metabolic Diseases at Klinikum Bayreuth, led by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Alexander Link, provides diagnosis and treatment of digestive and liver conditions. The department has modern video endoscopy with up to 115x magnification, laser and argon beamer systems, high-resolution ultrasound with Doppler and 3D sonography, contrast-enhanced sonography, and capsule endoscopy, and offers a 24-hour emergency endoscopy service.
