The Department of Gastroenterology at Klinikum Bielefeld-Mitte, led by Chief Physician Prof. Jan Heidemann, offers the full spectrum of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy: endoscopic hemostasis, ERCP interventions of the bile ducts and pancreas, endoscopic mucosal resection of early tumors, capsule endoscopy, double-balloon enteroscopy and endosonography. The department is part of certified oncology centers for gastric, pancreatic, esophageal and colorectal cancer, and treats inflammatory bowel disease and viral hepatitis.
