Klinikum Kaufbeuren

The Department of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at Klinikum Kaufbeuren (Kliniken Ostallgäu-Kaufbeuren), led by Prof. Dr. med. Helmut Diepolder, performs around 5,000 endoscopies annually. Services include colonoscopy with polypectomy and mucosectomy, stent placement, ERCP for biliary and pancreatic duct disease, endoscopic ultrasound, high-resolution abdominal and vascular ultrasound with contrast, and esophageal manometry and pH monitoring. A 24-hour emergency service is available, and the center cooperates with the Kaufbeuren colorectal cancer center.
