The First Medical Clinic and Polyclinic at UKE Hamburg, co-directed by Prof. Dr. med. Samuel Huber and Prof. Dr. med. Ansgar W. Lohse, treats patients with liver diseases (hepatology), disorders of the esophagus, stomach, intestines and pancreas (gastroenterology), as well as infectious and tropical diseases and tumors. Its diagnostic spectrum includes ultrasound and FibroScan; interventional endoscopy is performed in close cooperation with the Department of Interdisciplinary Endoscopy.
