Dr. Heiko Fensterer is a specialist in internal medicine and gastroenterology in private practice in Memmingen, Germany. He studied medicine at the University of Ulm (state examination and doctorate in 1999, medical license in 2001) and trained in internal medicine under Prof. Adler in Ulm and in gastroenterology and endoscopy under Prof. Gress at the University of Marburg. From 2008 to 2010 he served as chief physician leading the Marburg Digestive Center and its endoscopy unit. Since 1 January 2011 he has run a joint practice in Memmingen with Dr. Bernhard Schiefer. He holds an additional certification in oncological gastroenterology and further qualifications in emergency medicine, infectious diseases, and proctology, and is a member of the German Society for Gastroenterology, Digestive and Metabolic Diseases (DGVS) and the German Cancer Society.
