Prof. Dr. Jacob Nattermann is Section Head for Hepato-/Gastroenterology at the Department of Internal Medicine I at University Hospital Bonn, where as Associate Professor he leads the research group for innate cellular immunology. Research: The Nattermann group conducts translational immunological research with three focus areas: characterizing compartment-specific properties of human innate lymphoid cells (ILCs) and their role in gut health, examining how HIV infection affects the intestinal ILC population and contributes to systemic immune activation under antiretroviral therapy, and investigating how liver disease alters ILC composition and thereby contributes to the progression of liver fibrosis.
